Thank you for your support but all tickets for the February 5th meeting are SOLD OUT! Hope to see you next month for our next meeting on Thursday, March 5th.
First, I want to thank you for your support of The Reagan Club. It was a great election result in 2014, and so many of you helped to make winning margins happen. The Reagan Club is committed to the empowering and engagement of the “grassroots” . . . and that means equipping ourselves with good information and good responses to the “misleading, slanted and half-truths” of our progressive pals.
At our last meeting Gary Mikes and Susan Ellsworth gave us a starting point for making us better for the coming elections in 2015 and 2016. I had hoped to bring a panel presentation this month – on the “insider’s view” of what happened in Adams County and what we need to do to win in the next election.
That’s not happening this month – the court case is still pending – meaning that many issues could not be openly and freely shared at this point . . . so I’ve moved the panel back to April – given the pace of the legal process.
However – this month’s program will be timely and important given the issues and tactics being used to “reform” our Energy Policies and thus the costs and regulations impacting our daily lives.
“Energy Update: What You Need to Know.” Is the focus for February 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at EchoPark Auto (500 E. 104th Avenue, Northglenn).
Be sure to go on line and reserve your spot. Chef Dan is whipping up another savory supper for the event, and the new Board will be asking for your input on issues that they have identified as important for the coming year.
Presenters are:
Chris McGowne – Industry expert on the how, what and why things are done with our Oil and Gas sector. Many of you have asked when Chris would return – after his very strong presentation last year at the Ramada Inn for our September meeting.
Darrell Proctor – of Ponderosa Advisors. Mr. Proctor is a Senior Market Analyst with a story to tell about why oil prices have dropped, what that means for Adams County and Colorado and an insider’s story of what is happening internationally, and how the USA will maintain market success going forward.
You will come away knowing “What happened?” “Why it happened?” and “What the Future May Hold?” regarding our state and national oil & gas markets.
The Doors Open at 6:00 p.m. and Reservations for the Dinner Meeting should be made ASAP to reserve your seat at www.ReaganClubCo.com/meetings
Dinner begins at 6:05 p.m. and the Program starts at 6:35 p.m. – ending at 8:25 p.m..
Joins us for a night with conservative “soulmates” and of interesting information and insight . . . right here in beautiful Adams County.
Please see the list of our NEW BOARD OF DIRECTORS for 2015.
And don’t forget to re-new your membership for this year – which starts with this monthly meeting and runs through the end of January in 2016.
See you at ECHOPARK AUTO – February 5, 2015 at 6:00 p.m..
Thank You.

“The Progressive Income Tax” is one of those economic terms that gets bandied about, but few actually know what it means or how it works. This tale of three similar brothers with three different incomes (but one shared expense) helps explain the tax system under which we live. Adapted from an article by noted investor and economist, Kip Hagopian, and narrated by actress Carolyn Hennesy of “General Hospital” and “True Blood” fame, this animated story will change the way you think about how you pay your taxes.

WASHINGTON — Mark your calender, Coloradans. The (media) circus is coming to town this October.
That month, the Republican National Committee will bring one of nine presidential debates to the state of Colorado. The RNC made the announcement today at its winter meeting in San Diego.
There was no mention of a specific date or city, though CNBC was named as the host. In a statement, network officials said the debate — the third of nine — would focus on economic issues.
“We are honored to once again be selected to host this vital conversation. The U.S. economy, jobs and our nation’s position in the world has always been and will continue to be, for a majority of voters, at the center of their decision-making process when they cast their vote,” said Mark Hoffman, CNBC president, in a statement.

A new political startup has studied the potential 2016 presidential field—and those who donate to them.
Researchers at Stanford University started Crowdpac, a website that not only analyzes a candidate’s voting record and statements but their history of political donations as well.
The founders of Crowdpac say that combining these factors provides a more accurate picture of a candidate’s true political philosophy, especially when some potential candidates (such as Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson) never have held office and thus have no voting record to judge.
They utilized an algorithm to examine the money each candidate gave and received.
“Our unique data model shows you where politicians stand on the issues, based on what they say, how they vote and who gives them money,” writes Crowdpac on its website.
“The whole point is to make it easier for people to get involved with politics,” Crowdpac CEO and co-founder Steven Hilton told CNN. “The way we do that is to give people simple, objective data about candidates and issues that cuts out the spin and the party positioning and gives people really clear, simple information that’s objective about where the candidates are on the issues.”
Crowdpac ranked each candidate by number. A score of “10L” is regarded as “most liberal,” 0 is a “centrist,” and “10C” is “most conservative.” Crowdpac also provides the methodology for each score, such as the types and number of votes and donors.
On the Republican side, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is the most conservative candidate, earning a score of 10.16C.
Paul spokesman Brian Darling told CNN that the Kentucky senator “has a very conservative outlook,” and that he was “happy to see his boss named most conservative.”
The most moderate Republican is New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 2.5C, followed by former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at 3.0C and 4.2C, respectively.
Paul is followed by Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, at 9.7C, and Gov. Scott Walker, R-Wis., at 7.8C.
The most liberal candidate is Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., at 8.3L.
