Scott Gessler: Voter-registration drive largest in Colorado history

Colorado is launching the largest voter-registration drive in state history, an effort Secretary of State Scott Gessler said Tuesday should show critics that his office is encouraging people to vote in November, not trying to disenfranchise them.

The initiative, in the works for more than a year, includes a postcard mailing to about 961,000 people who may be eligible but are not registered to vote, as well as print, television, radio and Internet advertising. The office also developed a mobile application so people can register to vote or check their voter status from their mobile devices.
